On Saturday, August 1, we will meet at Cooley Landing in East Palo Alto, where we will build instruments to measure wind speed and direction, determine air humidity, and perform experiments to understand the effects of weather on flight.

This will be our last day in the park, but will close out the program with an OPEN House at the Palo Alto Airport on August 8!

🗼 Air Traffic Control Tower Tours – Go behind the scenes and learn how air traffic controllers safely guide aircraft through the Bay Area's busiest general aviation airports.
✈️ Flight Simulator Experiences – Take the controls of our FULL MOTION flight simulator and discover what it's feels like to pilot an aircraft from Take-off to landing!
🔧 Aircraft Maintenance Hangar Tours – See where aircraft are inspected and maintained, and learn about the rewarding careers that keep aviation safe.
🛫 Airplane Rides – Experience the thrill of flight and enjoy a unique view of the Bay Area from above. (Availability may be limited.)

Tailored for youth ages 12 - 24 get ready for a free, fun-filled day at Hayward Executive Airport and experience aviation like never before. Whether you're an aspiring pilot, curious about aviation careers, or simply looking for a unique community event, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Next Hangar Day - 8/10/2026

Designed for youth ages 9–17, our program offers hands-on, immersive learning in aviation and STEAM. Students engage through interactive videos, VR simulations, gaming challenges, and team projects—all designed to spark curiosity and inspire future innovators. Participants also enjoy frequent discovery flights!

Our next Private Pilot Ground School cohort is planned for September 2026.
We meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00–8:00 PM.  Sessions are held at our Palo Alto Airport hangar classroom and the Hayward Airport Terminal.
